This tour starts from your accommodation to get to Siena, where you can meet your licenced tour guide who will show you the hidden gems of the city. The spectacular Piazza del Campo - with the Town Hall and the Torre del Mangia - is the heart of the urban life and hosts the famous Palio for centuries. The other two important stops we need to make are the Basilica of San Domenico and the Cathedral, whose interior contains extraordinary masterpieces of art. Exclusively for this tour, it has been scheduled a visit to the district of one “Contrada”, which includes a tour of its church and museum. Precisely in these two places are preserved the greatest works of the “Contrada” as well as its flags, drums and uniforms – the so called “monture” – which are the uniforms worn during the historical parade before the Palio takes place.
And finally, you can spend your free time shopping. In addition to this leisure activity, the tour also includes a stop in a winery just a 2 km from Siena, where a Sienese noble family runs its own famous red wine business.
The adjacent villa is nestled in the green of a secular park where you can also enjoy an impressive view of Siena.
